Keith Loutit & Xavier Chassaing....

Here we have two of the best pieces of work that I have seen in a long time. This work is truly inspirational, both totally captivating within their own right yet at the same time both joined by comparable techniques and pratices used to create the end product. When watching, full screen on both for the full effect!

The first video is by Keith Loutit, you may remember an earlier post of mine that showcases a little more of his work. This piece uses a combination of stop motion video and tilt shift lenses to create a shallow depth of field which in turn gives the illusion that everything is very miniature and model like. It all appears very artificial with the angle, focus, light and movement but is infact constructed completely of real life scenes. Sit back and enjoy.

This next video is by Xavier Chassaing and is an experimental film made up of over 35,000 photographs....yeah you heard right, 35,000 photos!! It combines an innovative mix of stop motion and live projection mapping techniques. Everything about this video is incredible from the movement to the colours. The most amazing thing however....the incomprehensible amount of time that this piece must have taken to put together from start to completion. This left me in total awe.
