The Dark Arts Review #2

Have you ever heard of Chuck Palahniuk? No? How about Fight Club? Well Chuck is a prolific author who wrote Fight Club in 1997. Chuck is famous for his post modern minimalist style and the fact that his books are filled with some of the darkest tales in history. His work is the definition of dark comedy. and by the i mean as dark as a black man's cape at night in the arctic night. For example his story Guts made over 40 people faint whilst at a book reading.
His book Choke has been adapted into a film. It stars my favourite modern day actor Sam Rockwell. The film also star Kelly McDonald, Donald Faison and Anjelica Huston. It is fantastic. I dont want to give away too much of the plot but let me put it this way it's a film that combines some great Judd Apatow humour and David Fincher drama.
If you enjoyed Fight Club, not just for the fighting but the whole back story, then you will love this film.
Ill leave you with a tease of a description of the film.

Victor Mancini is a sex addict who works as a reenactor of life in Colonial America
. He works with his best friend, Denny, who is also a reformed sex addict. To support his hospitalized mother, Victor cons others by intentionally choking at restaurants to get money from his rescuers.
